Description

Outdoor Research Foray Rain Jacket - Men's

The waterproof, breathable Outdoor Research Foray shell jacket with all-season features easily shrugs off trail wear-and-tear and provides solid protection when a downpour sets in. The Foray jacket works as hard as you do, but packs down tight into its own pocket once the weather breaks. Gore-Tex® PacLite® is engineered specifically to be light, packable and more breathable than other 2- or 3-layer Gore-Tex fabrics. TorsoFlo™ double-sliding side zippers open fully from hem to biceps for unparalleled ventilation with poncho-style coverage. Dual-pull adjustable hood offers nicely fitted protection that doesn't hinder peripheral vision. 2-way water-resistant front zipper lets you adjust the fit and ventilation; internal storm flap keeps the elements out. Rip-and-stick adjustable cuffs and dual drawcord hem seal out the elements. Stash your necessities in the hand and chest zip pockets; left hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack. Outdoor Research Foray jacket has a standard fit that eases layering.

Best price for a Goretex

Fabric starts to look wet in heavier rain and the water fails to bead. But it still keeps you dry!

Excellent jacket - simple and effective

I have only positive things to say about the OR Foray jacket. I've owned it for a handful of months, and use it daily in all weather. I live in Seattle and commute to work by bike 5 days a week, year round, rain or shine. I haven't gotten wet once despite having spent more days riding in the rain than not. The storm flap over the zipper only has Velcro at the top and bottom, which was initially a cause of concern, but in use it has not been a problem. The zippers are quality, and well placed. Full-l

I love the hood!

All the OR jackets I've used have great hoods! This matters bigtime when you're slogging through the rain in the backcountry! The Foray's hood is no exception; it keeps the rain off your face without being bulky (and it can still extend over my climbing helmet). I recommend this great, affordable lightweight shell. Though I've used my Foray skiing, it doesn't give the warmth and wind protection that you'd expect from a 3-ply Gortex ski specificshell. Lastly, if using for climbing, beware of sharp rock while wearing this jacket - it can rip more easily than a softshell or the like. (OR's Ferossi hoody is more durable on the rock.) But if you're rapping in the rain or getting buffeted by the wind, the Foray will ease the discomfort!
