Perfect daypack!
The pack is just right for a day hike through a marine reserve to study waterbirds. It has enough well-placed pockets for water bottle, lunch, digital camera, phone, and small binoculars. I like the visibility of the metallic and light blue colors.REI's fulfillment of an online purchase was quite fast.

Perfect small backpack.
I wanted a backpack as an alternate to my messenger bag, but I'm a short female and backpacks usually give me low back pain. This is the perfect size to just barely fit a 13" macbook, notebook and one other text. (If you have a larger laptop, or need to carry lots of stuff, this pack is NOT for you!) The small size forces me to not overload myself. Has several pockets/compartments for pens, phone, iPod, keys, wallet, odds & ends, so it's easy to keep organized. Straps are well-designed and bag doesn't shift around at all, even when ducking through brush and branches for field work.
