Description

MSR Twing Shelter

This airy, minimalist, shaped tarp offers weather and sun protection with tons of ventilation. You get 68 sq. ft. of coverage for under 2 lbs. Catenary design increases airflow for added comfort in hot, muggy climates. Ultralight ripstop nylon fabric reduces weight and sheds water with a polyurethane and silicone coating. Can be set up using your own trekking poles, guylines or a combination of both. Features taped seams, reinforced stress points, and ultralight stake loops. Includes stuff sacks, needle stakes and attached guylines with tensioners.

Worth it!!!

The MSR Twing has been a great addition to my backpacking excursions. It is very lightweight, and super easy to set up. I was skeptical at first when I saw that it was to be held up by trekking poles, which kind of get in the way, but it held up fine. Even with several bursts of wind. I would recommend that if you do purchase this item to bring a footprint with you to sleep on. We were able to fit 4 people and one dog inside. I strongly recommend the Twing to any backpacker who likes to have a light pack on their adventures.

Good shelter - Not a great sunshade

Super light weight! Elegant design. Worked great as a shelter in the Pacific Northwest. But in the deserts of Nevada, the fabric let too much of the sun through, making it too hot to sleep under once the sun hit it. I was cooler in the shade of a rock. Good 'second room' for your tent - for storage or just hanging out.
