The waterproof Mountain Hardwear Ulster rain jacket is packed with features, and its durable construction fits the bill for water-logged adventures. 2-layer nylon shell with Conduit SL® laminate has an exterior water-repellent coating and an inner membrane that resists water penetration, making it truly waterproof. Ulster rain jacket has an attached, adjustable hood; 2 cargo pockets and 1 zippered chest pocket. Dual hem drawcords help regulate heat; cuff tabs with rip-and-stick closures seal in warmth. Chamois-lined chin guard protects your skin from zipper abrasion.

Nice for Skiing

I've traded in a couple of jackets at REI because they weren't what I wanted for a casual/skiing use but I've liked this one the most so far because it's comfortable, waterproof, warmer than a rain shell & just a great all around jacket.

AWESOME!

I was looking for what seems like forever to find a rain jacket. I needed something for Los Angeles in our one month rainy season. This doesn't sound like much but in that rainy season temperatures range greatly and I work at night and play with my kids during the day, and this jacket needs to do both. After looking and trying on several jackets I kept coming back to the Mountain Gear jacket. Fits great, moves well...even when chasing toddlers through the rain puddles...(side note-Keen waterproof shoes rock for this as well). In short, if your not climbing mountains or need it for a river rafting trip you will love this jacket.
