Everything a minimalist shoe you want
Bought these a month ago, been amazingly happy with the versatile qualities it has. Indoor and/or outdoor it doesn't matter. Playing recreational sports in a gym to hiking around trails.

Tight
Got these to wear in the woods when not long distance hiking and to wear to work in the place of my ubiquitous Top Siders (R). They have been great with a few exceptions. Wore them in the woods for a week during a rainy period. After day 3 they started to smell of mildew. By the end of the week I couldn't stand them around. D

I wanted minimalist, I got minimalist!
The slightly squared heel is evident in the otherwise compliant sole. It is a nice alternative to VFFs (which I have) since you can wear socks!

VERY Disappoitned with Redesign
This was my third pair of Merrell Trail Gloves. It was my first minimalist shoe and I loved them, running about 50 miles a week on road and trails. My first two pairs each lasted one year and only had to be retired when the soles wore out. But then Merrell redesigned the upper, making it a bit lighter (it was very light alread

Exellent trainer footwear
I mostly do road running with some trail running, usually 3-5 K at relatively high speed.I like the lack of weight and flexibility of these shoes. Their minimalist design has helped me correct my running form and get rid of the knee pain that I had often experienced when running in more convention running shoes.A slight issue is that when walking on a hard surface, the front of the shoe tends to roll slightly inwards when I'm putting down my foot. This roll, however, disappears when running. Finally, as many other reviewers had written, get them 0.5-1 US size smaller than your typical shoe size. I ended up using size 8 whil

Great
Comfortable for funning on dirt trails. You can feel everything. I found they work great on my bicycle.

great shoe
I decided to try the whole minimalist running thing after a couple knee injuries. I had Vibram 5 Fingers first, but I don't like not being able to use my regular socks. Also, the 5 Fingers require frequent cleaning to avoid odors. The Trail Glove is the perfect answer to this problem because they have a single toe box. The minimalist running idea is brilliant because it completely eliminates my knee pain. I also fee

Amazed
SO - I'm not a lightweight guy. Running is not something I do for pleasure but the stopping feels good.I have had expensive running shoes that have been ultra cushioned etc. Then I tried these. I was a little skeptical but I had heard so much about them. It's not often that I would say believe the hype but I'm going to on this occasion...The shoes are very well constructed, the materials hard wearing and certainly light and breathable.I've used them so far for trail walking (including a massive rain storm and mud), running on tread mill and pavement and just general sneakers. In all situations they have felt comfortable and improved th

Good Stuff
I wear the Trail Glove 2's whenever I can. I am pondering about wearing them to work but the office environment can be not very receptive to loud training shoes. These are my go to CrossFit shoes for all movements (I don't wear weight lifting shoes) and I haven't had any major problems. Some minor problems are landing too far on my toes and too hard on my toes coming off pull-ups, toes-to-bar, and box jumps that slightly bruises my first toe joints/ball of my foot. The lightness of the shoe is great and the ventilation is superb. I had another pair prior that had wind proofing (the Sonic Glove) that living in Texas didn't mix well with. These are the p

Many pluses only one minus.
I wore these shoes for a week to break them in. I would do a cross fit workout in them once a week. I even took them on a hike. They were great! I was looking to switch out my Five Fingers because little rocks get stuck between my toes when I do my trail runs and I didn't want to stop and fix every time this happened. My first trail run in these shoes gave me blisters on both feet on the inside of my foot near the ball of my foot. It was from the plastic design on the outside of the shoe. I thought it might be just bad luck so I waited two weeks and tried it again. The same thing happened. Too bad, I really liked the sho

NeedsArchsupport
For me, I definitely need arch support for stepping on sharp rocks at the arch. Smooth surfaces such as dirt, pea gravel, sand no problem. Curiosity, the woman shoes have a thicker tread.

Improved version
I replaced the original trail gloves with these. I put the originals in a euro dryer on low and the stupid thing never turned off, so my shoes were ruined. My bad. But I got these, and they are much the same, but improved in small areas. There is a softer material on the inside that covers everything, so it is more comfortab

Feet in the game
Great tactile feel. As you walk or run, you get a sense that your feet are spreading out and your toes are grasping the terrain. These shoes are like ballet slippers as far as ankle support goes; however, I feel less apt to suffer a sprain because appropriate muscles are used for support instead of restrictive shoe design. The only issue I have is the cushioning is minimal in the heel for use on concrete. I have been wearing these for around town and light workouts for about a month. They are very comfortable and almost feel like a foot and ankle massage as you move. Very different feel from traditional shoes. Definitely recommend givi

First Minimalist Shoe and I am Loving it
I just bought this shoe today and I can say I already love it. Having switched from the Brooks Cascadia 7s I wanted to go to something minimalist, and while there is a big curve in using these (sore muscles after walking around the mall for several hours in these), they feel very natural to your natural foot as long as you choose the exact right size.
