Great shoe for the buck
So happy with this shoe, have been wearing them for 3 months, still happy. Bought 1 size larger, great fit. Waterproof they are not, I was caught in a rain storm while hiking in the mountains, my husbands non waterproof got wet immediately, these took a while and then I was sloshing the 10 miles back to the trail head, they dried out within a day and I am good to go. Waterproof and water resistant are two different things..Gal's these are a great pair of hiking shoes!! Great traction and griping on rocks and loose dirt and shell rock.

Love it, but buy it in store
Right off the bat loved this shoe, especially for the price. I have slightly high arches, under-pronate, and have knee pain. These feel really supportive and seem to have better arch support than the non-waterproof version. Definitely needs some break-in due to the stiff waterproofer, but it's already comfortable, just stiff. Not for those who like the ultra-cushioned feel of a trail runner, great for those who need some stability and support. I found it ran true to size compared to other brands (I am a size 8, wear 8 1/2 sneakers & hiking boots, bought this in an 8 1/2 and it's perfect). It does, however, run 1/2 size smaller than the non-waterproof version of the Siren Sport 2. If you have worn Merrells before, you may need to size up fo

Good shoe, great traction
I've used these on hiking trips in the Hudson Valley this summer, and they've been very good. The traction has been great. Could have a little more cushioning, but perhaps I'm just spoiled by my running shoes.

Runs small
I've owned Siren Sports before, and this is a different animal. Runs smaller and narrower than expected, leading to cramped toes. I do a 6-mile hike once a month and these nearly crippled me. The sole is much stiffer as well - almost no flexibility. Have to return.

Tight Toe Box
I like that these are lightweight. I bought them hoping they would work for a hiking trip. I tried adjusting the lacing to make the toe box better but I couldn't get them to work out. Pain in my toes the last time I wore them ... I will be taking them back.

Great shoes- esp. for recreational hiker
I bought these hiking shoes for a two week trip to Norway, and to my surprise they survived snow, scrambling through various terrains, many days of hiking through the fjords, and were even great shoes for simply exploring Oslo, Bergen and many smaller cities along the way. The thinner laces and larger plastic eyelets near the top of the shoe

Very pleased with purchase
I like the way Merrell shoes fit. I tried these shoes on in a store then ordered them online at R.E.I. I needed to buy the shoe one-half size larger than I normally wear. They fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable with good support.

Sexy but stiff shoe
I bought this shoe instead of replacing the non-gortex siren shoe, but it fits smaller and more stiff than the non-gortex version. I will have to return this shoe unfortunately.
