Not Merrell's best.
I use these for daily wear, walking the dog, etc. I guess Merrell has discontinued the style I used to wear so I picked these up instead. They are true-to-size relative to my other Merrells.I found the shoes to be very stiff; they took forever to break in and rubbed on the back of the ankle/heel and along the tongue in the meantime. The padding seems a little light but the insoles so far provide adequate support. They're OK now that they're worn in, and I will change out the insoles if needed. But... I'm used to Merrell shoes being very "ready-to-wear" so the comfort level on these shoes leaves something to be desired. Overall an average shoe.

Loyal Merrell customer, hate these shoes
I have been wearing Merrell's for over 10 years at least. I love every other pair of Merrell's I have ever worn, except these. Owned them for a couple months, but hate them every time I wear them. They run small, so it was recommended to me by the employee to buy a half size larger. In the store, they seemed snugger than normal, but felt good---because Merrell's feel real stable. As I wore them, I noticed after a couple hours, I couldn't wait to get them off. (normally I can wear Merrell's all day long with no problem) The tongue on these has less width in the fabric than normal, so when you tie them, it hurts your feet. I do not have room in them for my arch supports I wear, so had to take out the liners and buy Superfeet supports to put in. (normally do not have this problem
