Merrell Road Glove Road-Running Shoes - Men's - 2011 Closeout

The barefoot-inspired Merrell Road Glove road-running shoes offer protection from road debris without interfering with your natural stride, so your run earns you strong muscles, not sore feet. Shoes feature a 0mm heel-to-midfoot drop to encourage a natural midfoot to forefoot strike; 4mm thick EVA midsoles provide light cushioning. Synthetic leather and mesh uppers create tough, flexible and breathable barriers around your feet. Lacing system is anchored by welded thermoplastic-urethane overlays, ensuring a snug fit. Rubber toe bumpers and forefoot shock absorption plates guard against bruising. Vibram® Road Glove nonmarking rubber soles offer excellent grip on the road. Closeout.

Solid road running shoe

I've only run 5 times in these shoes at 4.5 miles per run and so far they feel comfortable though a little narrow. I ran in them without socks the first time because they were supposed to emulate barefoot running, but I got pretty bad blisters on my feet. I was a little surprised since I've been running in Vibram FiveFingers Bikila road running shoes without socks for the past 1.5 years and haven't had issues with blisters since my feet have adapted. I imagine that I just need to break in the Merrell's with a few more runs and my feet will be fine. Additionally, the Merrell's protected my feet from some pretty big goathead thorns on the road whereas the Vibram FiveFingers Bikila didn't do quite as well.
