Comfortable boot

Purchased the product and immediately went for a 4-day, 50-mile+ backpacking trip. I weigh 200 pounds and carried up to 70 pounds of gear. The boots were very comformatable and I had no problems. By the end of the hike it is very evident that the souls took a beating. The sales folk did warn that the boot is designed to break down and I could expect about 300 miles out of the boot. We'll have to see how many miles I am able to get out of these boots.

Love them!

I tried on numerous brands and styles, wanted light hikers as I already have heavy duty hikers...I lo

Most Comfortable Ever.

These are one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've worn - I didn't mean boots. The fit and comfort are better than my running shoes. Have not put them to the test on a long hike, yet. Did not really notice a break-in period; they were comfortable out of the box. Spent a lot of time at the store trying several types, sizes, and widths to find the best fit.

Not a good boot

I have had these boot for a while but only had a chance to really put them to the test this last weekend. They failed. I had done about ten long day hikes in them before this weekend and they seamed to b

Good day hiker, but not for the serious

I am am avid day hiker that spends summers in the Rocky Mountains. I tried the Moab because of the popular recommendations and suggestion from REI associate.I found the ankle height to be lower compared to Vasques and Lowe mids. Thus I didn't get the support and side protection I liked when scrambling or on talice. It also only has one upper lace hook, so I couldn't tie the way I like for downhill treks.Check your european sizing - while it runs in US sizes, the corresponding euro sizes are lower. I developed pain in my big toe. I found the lacing mechanism hard to keep the front from being tight, when cranking down the upper laces. This is clearly a great boot

This is a great basic boot.

I needed to replace my worn boots, especially with some new good tread for an upcoming trek in the Andes. I broke the boots in on a day hike in the Cascades and then was on to Peru. Used a new pair of Super Feet inserts (as I always use) and I had no problem with the boots for the ten day trek in the Andes.

Great for Jamboree

Just returned from the 2013 National Jamboree at the Summit. Broke a new pair of these boots in for a few weeks. Boy was I glad to have them!! It rained for days, our campsite was 2 inches of gravy, hiking trails were slick and damp... My feet s

Very comfortable !

I had a pair of Merrells' and they lasted over 20 years. They finally wore out, they were very comfortable and durable as well. I got the higher hiking boots for a little more ankle support. I have

Light and comfortable

I used these on a trip to the Pacific NW and have 2 weeks experience with them. They are light and comfy. Ankle-deep water was no problem. We'll see how they hold up.

my son didn't complain , enough said

Backpacking in the White Mountains. My son says they are the most comfortable hiker he has worn . Great for warm weather . Great during heavy rains . So far no cons , but we usually hike about 100 + miles a year . lets get some miles in them to give a consistent review .

Great Boot

These boots are great. I have had them for just about a year and still going strong. You really need to wear either an extra insole or use the REI wool socks because the bottom of the boot is not very comfortable by itself. At least to me.Overall a wond
