I don't know how or why this coat ended up in the outlet section. I purchased it from Merrell 3 years ago. They discontinued it at the end of the year and I petitioned for its return. I live in Seattle and walk 2 miles to work up and down hills and in rain and snow with some stylish Timberland boots. It is not only my most functional coat, it is also the most office-professional coat in this category and it is super flattering - tailored and a-lined. It averages 1.5 compliments per wear and 3 people have tried to buy it off my back. The light color does show dirt more readily but it washes up well. It has also saved my bacon crossing streets in dark stormy nights. Cars rarely see me in a dark coat. I just noticed them available through the outlet and bought my second. Warm dry stylish winter, here I come. Thanks Merrell and REI!!!
