Great hiking shoes
This is my fifth pair of Chamelions, starting with the first generation. I love the fit and support of this shoe so much that I wear it almost daily. I have hiked in these shoes extensively in the Rockies, Apalachians, and Upper Midwest. Traction is also excellentin in all weather and trail conditions. They are suitable for most day hikes with a light pack. For backpacking or crossing scree I prefer a boot with more ankle support. Waterproofing is excellent as long as you don't go in over the ankle.

Very comfortable
Tried on several competing models in store, these fit my feet the best. Often times I take a shoe home, and within a few miles they are no longer comfortable, but that is not the case here.My first outing with these was a 6.5 mile hike on moderate trails with a few rocks and stumps carrying a 30lb pack load.
