Disappointing

Disappointed w/ Merrell, glad I purchased them from REI. First pair sole started to delaminates at 5months, replaced them, second pair same in a month.

Another Great Merrell Shoe

Another great addition to Merrell's barefoot line. I use this shoe when I want to have a zero drop shoe with a little cushion, like long runs or when my feet are especially tired.

Lack of Durability

I bought these shoes because they are lightweight, breathable, and have Vibram soles. My intention was to give them a try as a lightweight shoe to use on a round the world backpacking trip. The durability of this shoe is greatly lacking. After approximately one month of on and off use, the sole began to separate from the rest

Great shoe for walking

I use this shoe for everyday wear and trail hiking. I believe it has improved how I feel at the end of a long hike. Less back, leg and ankle p

Barefoot to Five Fingers to Merrell Bare

I was a typical Heel Striking, Asics buying,15-20 mile a week runner. Then, I drank the barefoot Kool-Aid and I loved it. I have never gone back to normal running shoes.I started truly barefoot. After several months my mileage topped out at about 2.5 miles per run. Five Fingers increased that somewhat. I needed something just a bit more. If you are looking for something that is one step above the Five Fingers, this is it. This Merrell is the perfect shoe for that. Merrrell makes one that is thinner, but it felt too much like the five finger sole. I tried the New Balance version, but didn't like it- too thin. This Merrell Bare Ac

Good shoe, but not great for jumping

I really wanted to like these shoe more. I bought them to do Insanity workouts at home as my running shoes made me a bit nervous that I'd twist an ankle. An associate recommended it, and another member was buying the same shoe for CrossFit.This shoe is a lot more stable for lateral movements, and for a couple of weeks all was great. However, I noticed that after a few weeks my feet were really starting to hurt, mostly my toes and upper foot. I still like this shoe and wear it for other workouts where I want something light and breathable. I've done some short treadmill runs with them and they're fine - although I doubt I'd do any real distance on roads with them. They do seem to run about 1/2-1 full size small. My regular size felt like clown shoes, especially in the toe box.Saw on other comments that people complained about the sole separating from the upper. I've had mine for about 6 months and with almost d

Comfortable but not durable

I bought a pair of these shoes less than three months ago and after less than two months the sole began to peel off of the bottom of the shoe. I took them back and exchanged them for a new pair but after less than two weeks the sole started to peel off again. My primary use of the shoe, as of late, is sitting in front of a computer for 8+ hours per day with mild outdoor activities on weekends so I wouldn't consider myself being rough on the shoes. I will be taking these back and exchanging them for a different model/brand. They are incredibly lightweight and breathe great. They do take some getting used to since it does, in fact, feel like you are barefoot. Not good for standing for long periods of time. I didn't run in them for extended periods of time so I can't make a determination if they work well for that or not.

A little slick, but love this shoe

Love how this shoe feels! But only 3 stars because I have slid in them a couple of times--once on dry pavement on a fairly steep downhill, walking luckily, and once on wet pavement. Soles need more stickiness, less hardness to them. But really love how they feel--light, comfortable. I have a fairly high arch and feel enough support.

Excellent Minimal Running Shoe

Run 8 to 12 miles per day. Excellent, flexible, lightweight running shoe. Comfortable for walking and wearing with Jeans or to work. Feet feel great all day.

Great shoe!

I wanted a beginner minimalist trainer for short to medium length runs and to wear at the gym. There is most defintely a learning and muscle-building curve when switching to the bare-foot method of running. I am still building up up endurance but can comfortably run 3-5 miles on roads and at the gym. These shoes work and look great. I am very happy with them so far!
