The lightweight Marmot Phoenix rain jacket doubles as a backpacking and around-town shell. It protects you from the elements without weighing you or your pack down. PreCip® DryTouch™ waterproof, breathable coating helps prevent condensation buildup, eliminating that clammy feeling; ripstop nylon is lightweight and durable. Fully taped seams prevent water from penetrating through seams. Collar and chin guard are lined with DriClime® polyester tricot for comfort and protection against zipper abrasion. PitZips™ allow excellent ventilation control. Elastic drawcord hem and adjustable cuffs seal out the wind and rain. Features 2 zippered hand pockets. Marmot Phoenix jacket's standard fit allows comfortable layering.

Great fit, not waterproof

I bought this jacket for the rainy San Francisco weather. I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs and I LOVED the fit and the fleece around the collar. It worked fine in bits of rain and sprinkling, but the first time I wore it for 3 hours in steady rain, my clothes on the inside were damp. It seemed to leak the most at the seams. I took it back and asked if it might just be a fluke, but the customer service representative shared that a few others had returned it for the same reason. After trying on every jacket again I decided on the Gore-tex minimalist Marmot jacket. You can't go wrong with Gore-tex. It was worth the upgrade for a rainy city.
