Wet thru in 20 mins
Used the product around town, day hiking and backpacking.Went to the UK and hiked 15 miles of truly difficult hiking in 24 hours in the Lake District fells (awesome!!). Did not get a drop of rain there then went to Edinburgh, Scotland where it was raining a lot.The very first day it was raining pretty steady. My dad had his Arc'teryx Beta AR (from REI) and I had this Marmot. His Beta AR was perfect. Mine, sadly, was truly terrible. We were both shocked to find that after only about 20 mins I was beginning to feel water inside. It was a very cool day and we were just walking in town so no heavy exertion to create sweat. After 40 mins we stopped in a store to look at what I was feeling and sure enough, I was getting soaked.I got this jacket around Christmas 2012 and only used it around town and a few day hikes until our July 2013 trip. Was surprised to see how well my dad's Beta beaded water and mine did not at all.Anyway, took it back to REI and they readily took it back. Got the women's version of his Beta AR. Much more expensive but should be worth it. Thank God i

My Idea of Perfect
I am 5'3", 130 lbs with a 34C chest, so pretty much right in between a small and a medium in most things. I spent about an hour at REI trying on this jacket in a sm and med, and the PreClip and the Torrentshell in sm and med....I ended up with the Minimalist in a small and am SO HAPPY with it. Things I love about this jacket: I can fit a base layer and a midlayer under this and it still fits great; it is a basic rain jacket without a lot of bells and whistles - just my style; the Bright Grass color is gorgeous; it truly is waterproof; and the back comes down far enough over the top of my pants that I can bike to work in this jacket without getting rain down my pants. Yes, it's expensive, but from what I can tell so far, it's well worth it.

Very nice jacket
I've had mine for about 6 months and it's been out on fieldwork quite a few times now. It keeps you DRY with very little clamminess (thank you GoreTex!), and I often wear it as a windbreaker. It fits nicely ove
