Description

Marmot Mavericks 40 Sleeping Bag

The warm, compressible Marmot Mavericks +40°F sleeping bag is a smart choice to pack along for summertime sleeping under the stars, whether in the backyard or Banff National Park. Synthetic SpiraFil high loft insulation and blanket construction work together to keep you comfortable all night. Unique blend of 3-denier, conjugated spiral hollow fibers and 1-denier polyester fibers provides loft, warmth and compressibility. Tough polyester shell is protected with a Durable Water Repellent finish that causes moisture to bead up and roll off. 2-way, dual side zippers allow top of bag to fold back allowing easy entry. Brushed lining in chest and footbox for added warmth and comfort. Zipper guard runs the entire length of the draft tube to prevent fabric from getting caught in zipper. No more midnight drawcord fumbling—smooth, flat upper cord and hard, round lower cord make top opening adjustments easy. Bag can be zipped to another bag with similar zipper configuration. Includes compression stuff sack.

Harley Camping

The temp for me was wrong. Dressed well for sleeping and still a bit cold on a appx. 50* night. Leg room was great but the shoulder area was tight. 6'2" 220lbs got the long and the length was great but the shoulder area makes you sleep mummy style with the arms. Lower temp rating on a bag would be harder to fit on a Harley in a stuff sack but if the outside temp drops lower I think I would feel really cold.

Check it out!

Let me be honest, so far, I've used it once for a one-day stay at the Red River Gorge for a climbing trip. However, based on the size and weight of the bag in the compression sack, this thing will be awesome as I st

Light and Compact

I use this bag for 3 season backpacking in the Carolina's. For a 6'2" 220lbs guy that tosses and turns at night, the long version of this bag is very roomy. I also tend to get really hot at night, so I can take this bag down to 32 degrees or lower with a liner. All of this for a bag that packs down to the size of a football when compressed and weighs well under 3 lbs. I've got some cold weather bags for winter trips or spring and fall trips out west, but they are far too bulky and heavy for what I need in the southeast 99% of the time.
