Skillet For Campers
Handle is a little small, but it makes it easy to pack so id say those cancel each other out. Highly recommended.

Why Lodge????
I love cooking with cast iron, but Lodge stinks: It is too heavy –ridiculously heavy-, poorly balanced, and the rough finish is difficult to clean and promotes burning. The worst is that they are the only cast iron on the market. After checking every store and every online source, all I can find is Lodge. I now go to antique stores where I find lovely, light, sturdy, usable cast iron pans for reasonable prices. Why, oh why does REI carry Lodge? In what outdoor activity does anyone want to haul this kind of unnecessary weight?

Now we're cookin' with gas!
I live in a breakfast-centric house. It's the most important meal of the day. This Skillet was purchased to supplement our existing two, smaller cast-irons and immediately placed on permanent bacon detail.Cast Iron cookware can't be beat.

the only cookware to use for anything
I use lodge cookware at home and camping. While it is heavy it cooks very well and contains no chemicals or coatings just plain old cast iron and made in the USA. Everyone needs a little iron in there diet. Very easy to clean once cured as long as you don't use soap.I use either lodge or All Clad cookware exclusively and actually prefer lodge

Great skillet - [...]
These cost about half as much at [...]. They are great in the home, too heavy for anything but car camping though.
