Horseback Riding
The Kelly Seahorse Ranch, located in Amelia Island State Park, offers scenic horseback rides along the beach. The ranch offers both guided beach rides and private riding lessons. As of 2009, these one-hour rides cost $60 per person and leave daily at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The gentle Appaloosas and American Quarter Horses at the ranch can accommodate visitors of every skill level.

Nature Programs
The Amelia Island Plantation offers a wide variety of nature programs designed to help visitors explore and enjoy the distinct wildlife on Amelia Island. Whether you're interested in combing the beach for seashells, catching fish and crabs, or birdwatching, there is a tour on the island to suit your tastes. Visitors interested in taking a more active approach can take the Bike Hike tour, which covers six miles of paved trails. As of 2009, most tours cost $10 per person. Reservations are required.

Water Activities
The shores of Amelia Island State Park are a popular spot for fishing in the Nassau Sound. Here, fishers can catch redfish, flounder, whiting, jacks, speckled sea trout and tarpon. The nearby George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park is another ideal location. Canoeing and kayaking are other popular water activities off of Amelia Island. Rentals are available at Kayak Amelia. Kayak Amelia also offers guided tours, which include instruction and snacks. Tour locations vary with weather conditions. As of 2009, the Kayak Amelia Guided Kayak/Nature Tour costs $55 per person and includes all required gear as well as a snack.

Historical Tours
The Amelia Island Museum of History offers a wide range of exhibits and tours to introduce visitors to the rich history of the island. A variety of walking tours explore everything from the historic south district to Amelia Island ghost legends. Adults might also enjoy the Ferdinandina Beach Pub Crawl, which visits four popular pubs with one drink included at each location. Tours range from $10 to $25, and reservations are required.
