Things to Do in Primm, Nevada

Primm, Nevada, located 40 miles south of Las Vegas, is a common stop for travelers headed to and from Vegas. Primm offers much of the excitement of Vegas with casinos, shows and other attractions. This desert community also offers distinct outdoor activities such as land sailing.

Ivanpah Dry Lake

Ivanpah Dry Lake is a popular land-sailing destination in Nevada. This large open space is used for a wide variety of outdoor activities. Among them are archery, kite buggying and even national championship racing. The dry lake is located on I-15 in Primm. A permit is required to access the site, and it is closed to all motorized vehicles.

Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino

Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino offers a wide variety of rides and attractions, the most infamous of which is The Desperado. This roller coaster provides almost three minutes of heart-pounding, high-speed fun. Other attractions at Buffalo Bill's include the Turbo Drop, Adventure Canyon Log Flume, the Maxflight Cyber Coaster, the Frog Hopper, the Attraction Zone Arcade and the Vault 3-D Experience with eight different adventures to choose from. Admission ranges from $3 to $8 for each ride. Visitors interested in a less-turbulent experience can enjoy the casino, swimming pool and food court.

Primm Valley Golf Club

The Primm Valley Golf Club offers two distinct courses. The 18-hole Desert Course is 7,131 yards and a par 72. The Lakes Course, also 18 holes, is 6,945 yards and a par 71. The Primm Valley Golf Club also offers an extensive practice facility with a driving range, target greens and putting greens. Serious golfers can get help improving their game with private or group lessons from the club's golf academy. Before or after their game, players can enjoy either breakfast or lunch at the club's full-service restaurant and stock up on supplies and apparel at the fully stocked professional shop.
