The Kalaupapa region on Hawaii's Molokai Island is an excellent destination for travelers seeking the less populated and touristy side of the Hawaiian Islands. Located just west of famous Maui Island, Kalaupapa is home to native Hawaiians and a national historic park. There are few roads leading to Kalaupapa, making it a somewhat hard-to-access region, but there are several high-end resorts and hotels catering to those interested in the area.

Hotel Molokai

The Hotel Molokai is a centrally located resort hotel that is within walking distance of a variety of outdoor activities, including cave diving and mountain hikes. It is one of the oldest resorts on the island. The best time to visit is in the winter, when temperatures are mild, since the Molokai can have spotty ventilation and air conditioning.
