Bacharach Youth Hostel
While staying close to a castle is interesting, you could always stay at a youth hostel located within a castle. Nearly one century ago Stahleck Castle became the first ever youth hostel in Germany. The castle was built around the twelfth century and turned into a youth hostel in 1926. The castle sits 100 meters above the Rhine River overlooking the market town Bacharach. The hostel can be occupied by 168 people, with single, double and four bed rooms, as well as dorms. Facilities include a dining hall, café and Wi-Fi. The castle offers sightseeing tours on request and the nearby wooded areas are perfect for hiking and exploring the area.
