The Lake District is situated in North-West England in Cumbria. The area is famous for its many picturesque mountains, valleys, lakes and coastline. It's a popular holiday destination and if you are planning a trip to the Lake District, you'll find numerous hotels available at a variety of price points and situated close to nearby lakes and trails.

Allerdale Court

Allerdale Court hotel dates back to the 17th century and is located in Cockermouth. The hotel features 21 bedrooms, all with free Wi-Fi Internet and two restaurants. All of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and rooms range from four poster beds to single rooms. Room rates include a full English breakfast. There are numerous trails nearby, such as the Historic Town Trail that passes famous spots such as the house in which William Wordsworth was born. You also can rent row boats from nearby Watergate Farm or enjoy one of the more than 72 miles of biking routes around Cockermouth in the Lake District.

Old Dungeon Ghyll

The Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel is located in remote Langdale Valley. The hotel is more than 300 years old, and features 13 rooms, four of which have en-suite showers. Features include a resident's lounge for relaxing by the fireplace after a long day out exploring the area. In addition to the resident's lounge, the hotel has a dining room where breakfast and dinner are served and two bars that serve traditional ale and wine from the hotel's cellar. The hotel is situated close to lots of outdoor activities such as canoeing or mountain climbing.

The Drunken Duck Inn

The Drunken Duck Inn sits in the heart of the Lake District, close to Tarn Hows and Langdale Pikes. The Inn features a restaurant, a bar and a brewery where the hotel produces award winning ales. In addition, there are also a swimming pool, a steam room and sauna, a tropical and deluge shower and a fully-equipped fitness room. All bedrooms have at least an en-suite bath tub, although some rooms also come equipped with a shower. The Drunken Duck Inn is situated on 60 acres of privately owned land, perfect for long walks in the countryside. Nearby Duck Tarn is stocked with brown and rainbow trout, with complimentary fly-fishing available for residents, when in season.
