Niagara Falls State Park
One of the best places to see when in the area is the Niagara Falls State Park. Here you have the chance to take a tour of the falls from behind the scenes--it's a breathtaking view. If you're more interested in doing something active, then try the miles of hiking trails located in the park. There's also the Top of the Falls restaurant, which gives you a view of the entire falls; you can even hike to the restaurant.

Butterfly Conservatory
If you plan on visiting Niagara Falls with children, then take some time to visit the Butterfly Conservatory. It has over 100 different varieties of butterflies living inside at any given time. While you can't touch the butterflies, you can see them in a natural habitat and children seem to love it. It's possible to spend an entire day just watching the creatures.

Devil's Hole State Park
Located on the New York side of the falls is Devil's Hole State Park. This park has many trails that are accessible in both the winter and summer. In the late fall and winter these trails are used for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Once the snow melts, the trails change into hiking and walking trails. Fishing is also available in the park.

Niagara's Golf Wonderland
Niagara's Golf Wonderland is one of the best golf courses in the area. This nine-hole course is open all year long and is open to the general public. The greens feature bent grass, with Bermuda grass on the fairways. The course is well maintained and its inexpensive price gives you the chance to play multiple times in a single day if you have the time.
