Ogunquit, Maine, located on the southeast coast of the state, is the starting point of the famous Appalachian Trail, which runs more than 2000 miles through the mountains into the heart of the south. Local activities also include camping, fishing, boating and sea kayaking. As a popular outdoor destination, Ogunquit is also home to extensive, year-round accommodation.

Above Tide Inn

The Above Tide Inn offers impeccable views of the Ogunquit River and the Atlantic Coast, and is accessible to central Ogunquit, including shopping, dining and local attractions such as antiquing and boat tours. During the tourist season and on holidays, the Inn requires a three-night minimum stay. A breakfast is included with all the rooms, and while the rooms have personal refrigerators and televisions, there are no phones, to ensure a peaceful environment. The beach is an easy stroll from the Inn, which was the location of a lobster shack until 1978.

The Admiral's Inn

Birch Knoll Cottages

Holiday cottages are a favorite way to stay and see the Maine coast and the Birch Knoll Cottages, located in Cape Neddick, just four miles south of Ogunquit, offers 19 different cottages for self-sufficient travelers. Each self-contained cottage includes a bathroom and full kitchen facilities, as well as a private deck. Cottages are available in efficiency, one and two bedroom sizes, with either rustic or fully modern facilities. The cottages are located on 13 acres of private land, 2 acres of which is sports and activity fields, including a large child's play area. An outdoor pool is also available. The Birch Knoll Cottages are only open during the tourist season, which is from May until September.
