The 150 cabins and chalets on Ski Mountain overlook Gatlinburg and are on the border of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They offer one- to 12-bedroom chalets, and cabins have kitchens and dining areas. The chalets are 10 minutes from Ober Gatlinburg, the ski resort that shares the mountain. The streams near the cabins are large enough for fishing, but Gatlinburg has other places for trout fishing (with proper license; information is available through the Chamber of Commerce). Activities convenient to this location include hiking through the national park, rafting, alpine skiing, snowboarding in the winter and mountain golf.
