Oahu Restaurants

Oahu Restaurants
Oahu has the bulk of Hawaii's many restaurants and no matter what type of cuisine you seek, you will be satisfied. Finding good restaurants in Oahu is some matter of importance since you need all the energy you can get to take in the water sports, hiking, biking and rock climbing that makes a visit to Hawaii so memorable.

Duke's Canoe Club

The Duke in this Waikiki restaurant is one of Hawaii's most famous exports, the legendary surfer Duke Kahanomoku. The decor is dominated by actual memorabilia that belong to the man most responsible for making surfing a popular sport in America. Just be prepared to eat food like barbecue ribs, hula pie and spicy Asian salmon in a loud and rambunctious atmosphere. Of course, in Hawaii that is par for the course.

La Mer

Enjoy the spectacular view of Diamond Head in the distance while you enjoy exquisite French cuisine about as far away from Paris as possible. There is probably no better introduction to French food outside France than by eating the incredible delights this close to paradise. Menu highlights include Chilean sea bass, roasted goose and filet mignon of venison. Since this is a French restaurant, you might want to try the bouillabaisse.

Nobu

This close to Japan, you might as well try a Japanese restaurant while you're in Oahu. If you like sushi, you'll definitely want to give the sushi bar a try. The cold menu include lobster ceviche, oysters with three sauces and salmon tartar with caviar. Those who prefer to eat their meals cooked also can find something tasty at Nobu as well. Hot menu selections include king crab tempura, wasabi lobster and breast of duck.

Alan Wong's

Alan Wong's is an incredibly popular restaurant that is the place to go for authentic Hawaiian cuisine. The atmosphere is fun and very Hawaiian without going overboard and becoming too touristy. There are many menu highlights to choose from as you chow down with lovely mountains off in the distance. Da Bag is the name given to steam clams, one of the most popular appetizers. Entrees include pan steamed snapper, a huge steamed shellfish bowl, lamb chops with coconut and macadamia nuts.
