Skiing is the main attraction of Boyne Falls as it is home to Boyne Mountain ski resort. This area of northern Michigan averages about 140 inches of snow annually due to lake effect snow from Lake Michigan. Boyne Mountain has 60 runs spread out on over 415 acres, and has 10 lifts. It also has cross country skiing trails and a terrain park. The terrain park is home to all the extreme obstacles and jumps for skiers and snowboarders to traverse. Winter is the busiest time of the year in Boyne Falls due to all visitors to Boyne Mountain.
Golf
Boyne Falls is one of the most popular golf destinations in Michigan because of its choice of courses and lodging options. Many of the large resorts in this area offer golf packing that include lodging. This makes Boyne Falls an excellent place for a golf vacation, as you can play attractive courses for really low prices and stay in excellent lodging. The area's hilly terrain and pine forest makes for very interesting and challenging courses.
Water Park
Boyne Falls is home to Avalanche Bay--an 88,000-square-feet indoor water park that is open year around. This a favorite activity for families or anyone who loves the thrill of water slides. It offers slides and activities for all ages including a lazy river and hot tubs for the adults. Admission is free when staying at qualifying Boyne Mountain resorts.
Mountain Biking
There are several mountain bike trails in Boyne Falls and the surrounding area. The hilly landscape is perfect for mountain biking as it give riders opportunities for many climbs and down hills. The nearby ski resort Boyne Highlands allows mountain bikers use their ski lifts to get to the top of the ski hill to access the trails. Bike shops are available in Boyne Falls and nearby Boyne City for all your bike parts and accessories.
