List of Hotels in Vegas
Surprisingly, the city of decadence and debauchery also has a decidedly outdoorsy side to it. Just outside Vegas' city limits, barely protected from the encroaching urban mass, lies a jewel, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Replete with red sandstone blobs and trails that wind through them, this area is a hiker's and rock climber's paradise. Check out the Calico Tanks, natural cavities in the sandstone that hold water, located 1.25 miles from the parking lot. Or visit Icebox Canyon, a narrow canyon that drains water from the mountain slopes. Consider taking a long hike into Black Velvet Canyon or any of the other outlying canyons, and explore ravines bordered by 1,000-foot walls. When you're finished hiking for the day, head back into Las Vegas for a comfortable night at one of these hotels.
