Hershey, Pennsylvania, is best known as the home of the Hershey corporation, which has its own theme park in the area. You can check out Hershey and its terrain by hiking or biking the trails scattered outside of the city or by wandering through the city or the theme park. Staying in at a Hershey campground is one way to stay close to the action.

Ridge Run Campground

The Ridge Run Campground gives you the chance to try hiking, swimming and fishing within the boundaries of the campground. You also have access to whitewater rafting just outside the campground and longer hiking trail runs alongside the campground. The Gifford Pinchot State Park is a short distance from the campground, and you also have access to several nearby golf courses.

Hershey Conewago Campground

The Hershey Conewago Campground has seven cabins available for rent and 160 individual campsites for camping in a tent or RV. An 18-hole miniature golf course is located at the campground, as are a swimming pool, playground, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, volleyball courts and basketball courts. There's also a small walking trail that leads around the pond on-site.

Elizabethtown/Hershey KOA

KOA has a campground in the Hershey/Elizabethtown area of Pennsylvania. The campground opens in April and closes every year in November. The campground covers 50 acres and has its own fishing pond on-site. Campers also have access to horseshoe pits, a miniature golf course and a swimming pool. It also runs a hayride for kids during the summer.

Highmeadow Campground

The Highmeadow Campground has cabins available for rent, spaces for camping in a tent and RV hookups for larger campers. In the summer, the campground runs special arts-and-crafts style events for kids. As a guest of the campground, you have access to horseshoe pits, basketball courts, volleyball courts, shuffleboard and a swimming pool. A playground and smaller pool are also available for kids.
