The Best Campgrounds in Minnesota
Minnesota is a great place to go camping. The state park system offers outdoor enthusiasts nearly 4,500 different campsites. Many of these campsites tend to be crowded, as residents recognize the natural beauty of their state. Because you never know how full the campsite might be, plan your camping expedition as far in advance as possible.

Town and Country Campground

Located near the town of Savage, you'll find 82 RV-only sites and 14 tent-only sites here. The hookups are electric with 20, 30 and 50 amps available. Each site features a picnic table and fire pit. Recreational activities include swimming, a basketball court, a sports field and a playground for the kids. When it gets chilly, there is even a heated outdoor pool to keep you warm. For those in your group who might want a change of scenery, the Mall of America is just a half hour away.

Camp Waub-O-Jeeg

Located in Taylors Falls, Camp Waub-O-Jeeg has 50 RV-only sites and 20 tent-only sites. This campsite is surrounded by trees and located just five miles away from Taylor Falls. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. There are bathrooms with showers and a general store. Recreation includes swimming in the St. Croix River. The wooded areas around the campsite feature both hiking trails for both novices and experienced hikers. Other activities include fishing, volleyball and badminton.

Charles A. Lindbergh State Park

Located in Little Falls, Charles Lindbergh State Park has 15 RV-only sites and 23 tent-only sites. The restrooms are equipped with showers and each site features a picnic table and fire ring. The proximity of water and woods makes this stop ideal for those campers who enjoy both water sports and camping. The area around the park features seven miles of hiking trails, and during the winter there are five miles for cross-country skiing. Snowshoeing is possible anywhere in the park except for groomed trails and snowshoe rentals are available inside the park. Other recreation includes fishing and canoeing.
