Tahquamenon Falls State Park
In nearby Paradise sits the Tahquamenon Falls State Park, with more than 30 miles of trails for visitors. Trails include hiking, cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails. The park has a 4-mile trail that leads from the upper falls to the lower falls, which actually consist of five smaller waterfalls. Open year-round, this park covers nearly 39,000 acres.

Fishing
Mackinaw City also has fishing available for those interested. The municipal marina has its own shop where you can purchase equipment, bait and other essentials, including a license. From there, take the boat out onto the water for a day of fishing. Carp Lake also provides fishing in the area and another option is the fishing pier located right in Mackinaw City--a perfect choice for those who like shoreline fishing.
Parasailing
If you've ever wanted to try parasailing, Mackinaw Parasailing has everything you need to spend a day flying high. The company offers water-based and land-based trips. You have the option of taking the experience by yourself or with another person and you can buy a video copy of your experience at the end of the day.

Golfing
There are nine different golf courses in or around Mackinaw City and each offers its own experience and play. The Mackinaw Club has its own 18-hole golf course that covers more than 300 acres and has trees lining all sides for a more private experience. You can also try the Wilderness Golf Course, which has only nine holes, but is fairly challenging and more open.
