If you are looking to spend a quiet day outdoors in a city surrounded by nature, spend it in Winter Springs, Florida. This tree-lined city with magnificent landscaping throughout is in the heart of Central Florida. The city boasts 13 beautiful parks that hold a wealth of outdoor activities for all ages. Everything from hiking, picnicking, fishing, playgrounds and ball fields can be found there. Winter Springs also has several golf courses for the gold enthusiast.

Trotwood Park

Trotwood Park is a large park that is considered a community secret. Large trees inhabit the shady park, and there is a lake and dock where one can fish or just feed the local duck population. There are two playgrounds and covered pavilions for picnicking. Tables and grills are provided in the picnic area. There are walking paths throughout the park; there are also restroom facilities and water fountains along the paths. Sports enthusiasts will find softball and soccer fields; they'll also find courts to play tennis, racquetball and basketball. The admission is free, and the park is open from dawn until dusk.

Tuscawilla Country Club

Tuscawilla Country Club has a private, 18-hole regulation length golf course. This tree-lined course is quite scenic, and the local wildlife is quite plentiful. The course is considered difficult to play due to the water hazards that are plentiful. There are 31 to 40 sand bunkers. There is a putting green and chipping area with a teaching pro on site. There is food and a bar available, and clubs can be rented at the Club House.

Central Winds Park

Central Winds Park holds fun for the entire family. This park is considered a local gem. The park has ball fields to play both softball and baseball; it also has volleyball courts for the more energetic visitor. There is a large soccer field as well as other large, open areas within this beautiful park. Visitors wanting to take things at a slower pace will find a picnic area with pavilions that include tables and grills. There is also a large playground area for the kids and a quiet nature trail for those wanting to look at the local wildlife and flora. Admission to the park is free, and it's open year round from dawn to dusk.
