Things to Do in Ft. Lauderdale by the Sea
Located just a few minutes from Florida's Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the Sea is a resort town, with exclusive hotel and vacation club rentals. Day visitors to the area are welcome--the sandy beaches and warm waters make for a pleasant day at the beach. Most amenities for Lauderdale-by-the-Sea come from Fort Lauderdale. Neighboring Wilton Manors also has attractions.

Snorkeling at Twin Ledges

At an average depth of 10 to 20 feet, the Fort Lauderdale Twin Ledges area has calm waters with good visibility and a variety of colorful tropical fish. On your visit, you may see trumpetfish, three different kinds of angelfish, blue parrotfish or any of the hundreds of other kinds of fish that frequent the area. Also in abundance are sea turtles, barracuda and eagle rays. Warm water makes the diving comfortable all year round. Area shipwrecks are also popular diving locations. Some dive companies, such as Sea Experience, offer glass-bottomed boats, so that non-divers can enjoy the view, too.
