Fishing off of Surfside Pier
The Surfside pier allows visitors to go fishing without boarding a boat. It's also a place for strolling; a walk out to the end of the pier and back is a nice. After all, it's a sand-free alternative to a walk at the beach. Originally built in the 1950's, the Surfside pier has been rebuilt three times due to hurricane damage. Fishing passes are available on a daily, weekly and annual basis. The pier office also rents fishing equipment with no reservation required.

Bicycling at Surfside Beach
Feel the wind in your hair as you coast through the paved trails of Surfside Beach. Bicycles aren't allowed on the pier, but they are allowed on the beach, and beach cruisers are popular rentals for Mr C's, Surfside's oldest bike rental stand. They have bicycles for adults and children; there's also safety equipment and accessories. Trails run all along the Grand Strand, north to Springmaid Beach and south to Garden City and Murrell's Inlet.
