Omaha, Nebraska has an excellent reputation as a city full of outstanding, authentic German cuisine. It is believed that the reuben sandwich, attributed to the Germans for its combination of corned beef and sauerkraut, was actually invented in the kitchen of an Omaha hotel in the early 1900's. Today, there are still several popular German restaurants to choose from.

Bohemian Cafe

Considered not only one of the best German restaurants, the Bohemian Cafe is widely regarded as one of Omaha's best restaurants, period. Located in the historic Old Market, this restaurant is not a family venue--dinner prices run in excess of $20 per plate--but you won't find more adventurous or satisfying German cuisine.
