The three waterfalls known collectively as Niagara Falls are located on the borders of New York and Ontario, Canada. They are part of a 400-acre protected wilderness area. Aside from taking in the Falls with one of the many boat tours offered, the nearby Niagara Falls State Park in New York has plenty of opportunities for recreation; there are nearly 15 miles of nature trails available for walking, running and cycling. Several hotels in Niagara Falls are available for all budgets and families.

Sheraton on the Falls

The three-star Sheraton-on-the-Falls has 670 rooms including suites with floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Falls. The hotel offers package deals with nearby golf courses and the Fallsview Water Park and Niagara Casino. They are connected to the hotel through an underground walkway. Multiple dining options include a penthouse dining room and the kid-friendly Rainforest Cafe. A full-service salon and spa is available; so is a conference center with a full-stage venue and 35 meeting rooms. This hotel accepts dogs only with prior approval.

Great Wolf Lodge and Water Park

This rustic, family-friendly hotel is three miles from the Falls; it includes amenities geared towards children such as bunk beds designed with a cave-theme and a special family section in the buffet dining room. The Lodge is completely non-smoking and has 406 rooms. Several dining facilities are available. Meeting spaces with banquet halls, catering access and AV support can be arranged for large gatherings. Ripley's Water Park is an indoor water park on hotel grounds.

Fallsview Plaza Hotel and Casino

The Fallsview is one block away from Niagara Falls. It has 266 rooms, including a presidential suite. The hotel offers a fitness center and indoor pool with a waterfall feature, sauna, spa and several dining options. Meeting and banquet spaces are available.

Glengate Hotel

This 60-room budget hotel is less than a mile from the Falls. It's completely non-smoking. Complimentary services include continental breakfast, Internet access and on-site parking. A fitness room is available. Rooms have patio and balcony options and are pet-friendly. A limited number of Honeymoon suites with Jacuzzi tubs are available. Daily tours of the Falls leave from the lobby, and a number of restaurants and tourist attractions are within walking distance. Pets are not allowed.
