The Best Hotels in Boise, Idaho
Outdoor adventurers will find plenty to do within or outside of "The City of Trees." Called "Les Bois" by its first European visitors---French trappers---this nature lover's city offers endless opportunities for fishing, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, kayaking and white water rafting. The nearby Sawtooth Range and Boise National Forest have endless trails and forest service roads, and the city itself has more than 2,000 acres of green parks and 25 miles of nature paths, much of it lying on the Boise River. There is also the Frank Church "River of No Return" Wilderness area, which includes some of the Boise National Forest as well as four other national forest areas. The largest wilderness area in the lower 48, it has river canyons with wild rapids as well as peaks that are higher than 10,000 feet. Boise is the perfect base for adventurers of all sorts.
