The Crosslake area of Minnesota is conveniently located within 25 miles of Brainerd, providing a great number of options for outdoor pursuits and all forms of camping. Each campground and recreation area has its own unique combination of facilities and activities, so a little research will go a long way toward making your trip memorable.

Crosslake Recreation Area

Crosslake Recreation Area is an Army Corps of Engineers managed site. They offer discount passes (for age and disability). Electric and nonelectric tent camping, trailer camping and RV options are available and a dump station is provided.

The park is open all year. It has a picnic area, playground and beach swimming. Fish or boat on the water or go geocaching to explore and hunt for treasure.

Gull Lake Recreation Area

This location is on the Gull River and is open all year. Gull Lake provides wooded camping and undeveloped forest areas to explore. Hike, fish, go boating or swim. A playground is provided. ATVs are not welcome. Reservations are accepted.

Greer Lake Campground

Greer has beach swimming, fishing and dock access. Picnic areas and nature trails are available. Camping sites are first come, first served.

Crow Wing State Park

The park is open all year, but access to camping facilities might be limited due to road conditions in spring. RV sites, electric sites and cabin rentals are all available. Reservations are recommended for holidays and weekends.

There's fishing and swimming, and the park has canoe and boat rentals and a boat ramp. Crow Wing offers hiking, bike touring, ski trails and snowmobile trails. The park also provides naturalist activities, scenic views, historic sites and wildlife and bird watching opportunities.

Clinton Converse Memorial Campground

The site offers camping (including group camping). Pets are allowed. Walk the nature trails or enjoy a picnic. There is dock access, with fishing and swimming allowed.
