Gatlinburg Winterfest

All of Downtown Gatlinburg gets dressed up for Gatlinburg Winter Magic, a Christmas celebration with holiday lights featuring millions of LED lights on display, as well as old-fashioned Christmas decor and a New year's Eve ball drop countdown. Every night, visitors can take a trolley ride through downtown Gatlinburg and on Friday and Saturday nights, the Winter Magic Tunes and Tales carolers, storytellers and other street performers come out to entertain and uplift holiday visitors. To reserve a seat on the Trolley Ride of Lights, call (865) 436-0535 as early as October, space is limited.

Snow Sports at Ober Gatlinburg

Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort has an air tram that takes visitors 2 miles up the hill from downtown Gatlinburg to the lodge, in a straight line. Once there, visitors can ice skate, ride sleds or inner tubes, ski, snowboard or snow shoe.

Play Indoors

In addition to the glass elevator ride up to the observation deck, the Gatlinburg Space needle offers Laser Tag, an arcade and old-time photos. From the 360 degree observation deck, look out over the ice and snow of the Great Smoky Mountains, over 400 feet down to the Little Pigeon River.
