Oceanside Hiking

There are several miles of hiking trails in Acadia National Park, the first national park east of the Mississippi River. The Ocean Path runs three miles along seaside cliffs, and at one point the "Thunder Hole" is visible. When the waves kick up at this inlet, water spouts up to 40 feet high with a deafening roar. Ocean Path runs between Sand Beach and Otter Cliff, both of which are visible from the lookout point at Thunder Hole. Pick up a map of hiking trails at the Acadia National Park Visitor Center.
