Free Public Camping at Possum Kingdom Lake
Scenic Cove, Downtown PK (no water access), South D&D, Bug Beach, Brazos River Area and the West Side Public Ramp all offer free camping, with no water or electric hookups. The Brazos River Authority doesn't accept reservations--all sites are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dale River Ranch
Just 15 minutes from Possum Kingdom, the Dale River Ranch offers hunting, fishing, camping, canoe rentals, inner tubing and horseback riding. Campsites are along the river and atop hillsides. Wild turkey and deer are frequently spotted at the ranch.

Possum Kingdom Lodge
Possum Kingdom Lodge offers tent camping, cabins and RV hookups. They have plenty of recreational amenities, like rentals on golf carts, canoes, paddle boats, inner tubes and pontoon boats. They're also pet-friendly and have an exotic bird display, horseshoe games and guided boat tours.

Possum Kingdom State Park
The state park offers cabins for rental as well as tent campsites that range from primitive to premium, with water and electricity. They also have a trailer dump station, picnic area, a fishing pier, fire pits, playgrounds and two miles of hiking and biking trails. They do accept reservations.
