Negril
Negril is located on the West side of the island. It is known for its seven miles of white sandy beach and amazing resorts. Negril is home to scuba diving and snorkeling, and offers the best cliff jumping on the island for the more adventurous type. Negril is a great place for couples to visit but is not a great place for families due to their well known "swimming suits optional" beaches.
Montego Bay
Montego Bay is located on the Northwest section of the island. It is the most popular vacation spot in Jamaica due to the multiple resorts and proximity to the airport. Montego Bay offers vacation villas overlooking the ocean, offering spectacular views and a relaxing atmosphere. Here you will find great beaches offering beach volleyball, scuba diving, snorkeling and boating activities. Montego Bay is also home to the nicest golf courses in Jamaica. It is a great place for families, offering many large vacation homes and activities that the whole family will enjoy.
Runaway Bay
Runaway Bay is located on the Northern section of Jamaica. It is known for beautiful all-inclusive resorts offering scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, guided fishing trips and great views. Runaway Bay is recommended for adults as there are many adults only resorts and "swimsuits optional" beaches. While adults will enjoy golfing, nightclubs and leisure days on the beach, there are not many children activities close to Runaway Bay.
Ocho Rios
Ocho Rios is also located on the Northern section of Jamaica. Unlike Runaway Bay, it offers many activities and amenities geared toward families including beach volleyball, snorkeling, beautiful hikes and bike rentals. Ocho Rios is also home to Jamaica's most popular tourist attraction, Dunn's River Falls. Here you will enjoy the 600 foot waterfall that provides spectacular views, wonderful hikes and great family fun. Ocho Rios is also home to numerous golf courses, horseback riding on the beach, rafting, reggae festivals and the original Margaritaville. It is the most family friendly vacation spot Jamaica has to offer.
Kingston
Kingston is the capital of Jamaica. It is located on the Eastern side of the island and is the trademark of Jamaica's culture and history. Although Kingston is not known for their tourist attractions, there are many tours of the city available by bike or walking. Make sure to take the Croydon in the Mountains tour while visiting Kingston, and enjoy spectacular views, fun day hikes, and rich history of coffee bean and pineapple plantations.
