Florida Solar Energy Center
The Florida Solar Energy Center opened in 1975 in search of alternate energy sources. The establishment created items and received patients for energy-saving utilities such as a high-efficiency air conditioner condenser fan. In 2009, tours of the center featured an explanatory video. Tours are limited to 25 individuals the second Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. The tours last approximately 2 ½ hours.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge sits on 140,000 acres of land near the Kennedy Space Center. It houses 1,500 species of plants and animals. The refuge contains 15 endangered or threatened species and seven different habitats. Activates include kayaking, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, manatee observing and wildlife watching. The refuge contains a visitor's center, which you should check out before heading out to explore. The refuge possesses several regulations regarding where individuals can do certain activities.

Ron Jon Surf Shop
Cocoa beach is the home of the original Ron Jon Surf Shop. The company began in 1959, just as fiberglass surfboards and the sport of surfing gained popularity. In 2009, the Cocoa Beach location was dressed in turquoise complete with a glass elevator and a waterfall. It remains open 24 hours, 365 days of the year. This location is the only location to offer local talent, such as a high school marching band, a place to perform
