Chicago Botanic Garden offers guided tram tours, garden walks for every season and birding tours of its 385 acres of gardens, which includes three native habitats. Located on Chicago's north shore, there is a wild mushroom hunt in the woods every spring and moonlight garden walks.

Chicago's Lakefront Bicycle Tour

This eight-mile round-trip tour is classified as easy and recommended for children and families. The tour travels through Lincoln Park, the beach, Lincoln Park Zoo, Millennium Park and Grant Park. Enjoy lakeshore scenery as well as Chicago's attractions and architecture. The tour takes two to three hours.

Wolfe Wildlife Refuge

The Wolfe Wildlife Refuge is 45 acres of wetlands that offers programs for all ages. The refuge also includes a playground, volleyball and basketball courts, walking paths, and picnic areas. A paved walking and biking path makes it easy to see the wetlands, or you can see wildlife from the observation deck. The park is open from dawn to 10 p.m., and admission is free.
