The Best Family Ski Resorts

Bhenak: Flickr.com

Winter is the time to gather your family together and hit the slopes. Feel the crisp, cold air on your face as you glide down the mountain trails together. Participate in other fun family activities. Finding the right ski resort makes all the difference in the world, especially for those traveling with children. All ski resorts are not created equal when it comes to family ski vacations. Some of the resorts do not have accommodations, activities or a "family-friendly" atmosphere; all of these resorts do.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Located 180 miles southwest of Denver on the north end of the Gore Range, Steamboat is a true ski town that has a lot to offer families. Spend your off time exploring the historical downtown area located minutes from the ski mountain, which also provides numerous places to eat and shop. A free shuttle is available from downtown to the mountain. Take advantage of an abundance of lodging found within walking distance of the lifts with many being ski-in, ski-out resorts. Ski lessons are offered daily for all ages, and a centrally located gondola can take you quickly up the mountain.
