It also has seven lifts along with a recently added high-speed quad to take you up the 1,400 vertical feet to the top of the mountain. Plattekill Mountain, just 10 miles outside of Kingston, promotes their place in the Catskills as a family-oriented mountain. The mountain is family-owned and operated and that love of family comes through in the ski experience. The ski area has the terrain to satisfy all experience levels with nice, slow green cruisers and some of the steepest double black diamonds in the area. Plattekill Mountain is home to 1,100 feet of vertical drop, three lifts that take you to 35 trails. It also claims around 200 inches of snow each year, so it has a good base to work with when making snow.
