Nature Trail at the San Francisco Zoo

Teens can take a self-guided tour of the Nature Trail at the Fisher Family Children's Zoo inside the San Francisco Zoo during the summer season. The trail, open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., gives teens a chance to see dozens of wild plants, flowers and small animals in their natural habitats. As of 2009, tickets for teens under 14 are $9, and teens 15 and over pay the adult fee of $15.

Flash Sport Fishing on Fisherman's Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf is a prime destination for teens to take a deep sea fishing trip around the Bay. The Flash Sport Fishing company offers fishing tours with Captain Steve, an expert fishermen, throughout the year. Teens can enjoy a guided tour of the San Francisco Bay Area while learning about the striped bass, sharks, halibut and rockfish that inhabit the waters. City Hikes: Mount Sutro & Twin Peaks

City Hikes is a group hiking tour operator that offers guided tours and walks throughout San Francisco. Teenagers can join a group tour or book a tour with a group of friends. The Mount Sutro and Twin Peaks tour takes hikers on a 4.5-mile trip starting at the eastern end of Golden Gate Park and crossing the Clarendon saddle up to Sutro Tower and Twin Peaks. Hiller Aviation Museum

The Hiller Aviation Museum is located south of San Francisco at the San Carlos Airport. It features a Flight Sim Zone where visitors can fly a variety of aircraft equipped with flight simulation technology to learn how to fly a short cross-country flight around the Bay Area. The Aviation Adventure! program is taught by real-world pilots. Teens under the age of 16 are required to register with an adult co-pilot. All other teens can fly as an adult. As of 2009, prices per pilot were $30 for members and $36 for non-members, and $10 per copilot for members, and $12 for non-members.

Biking or Rollerblading in Golden Gate Park

Golden Gate Park, San Francisco's largest public park, offers free admission year-round. Teens can rent a bike or rollerblades from the Golden Gate Park Bike and Skate shop and spend the day exploring the bike trails and paved roads throughout the park. Guests renting from this store also have easy access to Golden Gate Park because the shop is located across the street from the large skating area on park grounds.
