Rygerfjord Hostel
The Rygerfjord Hostel is actually a boat with 70 cabins and 200 beds for travelers to stay overnight. This ship was originally commissioned in 1950 and sailed extensively along the coasts of Norway and Sweden. The Rygerfjord was docked and converted into a floating hostel in 1999. There is an original maritime ambiance at this hostel, and tasteful antique chairs and Persian rugs in the lounges add to the classic atmosphere. A breakfast buffet is available, and a small restaurant also serves affordable meals for lunch and dinner. Internet access is one other nice feature aboard this unique floating hostel.

Columbus Hotel
The Columbus Hotel is a quaint place to stay in Stockholm. Located near Medborgarplatsen, or citizens square, this hotel has budget accommodations with shared bathrooms as well as standard hotel rooms. A quiet, cobblestone courtyard is adjacent to the hotel, and a scenic park is right next to the building as well. The Columbus Hotel building was used as a barracks for the city guards of Stockholm 200 years ago. It was converted into a hotel in 1976, but the old floors and antique furnishings help the place retain its classic atmosphere. Visit the lobby in the mornings for the breakfast buffet or stop in at the hotel bar in the evening for a drink.
