Things to Do Around Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls allows visitors to take part in outdoor adventure experiences that they won't find anywhere in the world. Tours and excursions are available for families and guests of all ages and skill levels. With so many different options, visitors will have a hard time deciding which tours are best for them.

Cave of the Winds Tour

The Cave of the Winds tour in Niagara Falls starts on Goat Island, where guests are suited up in yellow ponchos and special footwear. After taking a 175-foot elevator ride into the Niagara Gorge, the tour guide leads guests through the wooden walkways until they reach Hurricane Deck. At Hurricane Deck, winds reach up to 68 miles per hour, giving guests the opportunity to experience what it would be like in the face of a hurricane. From Hurricane Deck, explorers are just 20 feet away from Bridal Veil Falls. As of 2009, prices for this adventure are $11 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12; children 5 and under are free, making this tour an affordable and exciting adventure for the whole family.

Maid of the Mist Boat Tour

On the Maid of the Mist boat tour, guests have the opportunity to experience the falls in a way unlike any other. Sporting bright blue ponchos, visitors cruise through the falls, experiencing some of the roughest areas as well as some of the calmest. Rainbows sightings and a great time are guaranteed by the Maid of the Mist staff members. Guests have the option of choosing the upper deck, where they will get absolutely drenched, or the lower deck where they have some chance of staying partially dry. The tours last 30 minutes and leave every 15 minutes from the docking area. The Maid of the Mist Gift Shop and Museum is also available to serve passengers who want to pick up a souvenir or learn more about the boat and the history of the tour can do so.
