Located near Phoenix, Arizona, Camelback Mountain's challenging terrain and desert wildlife draw in plenty of rock climbers and hikers every year. Of course, many of the people who come to Camelback Mountain are traveling on the cheap and looking for bargains. Truly budget accommodations are unfortunately rather thin on the ground, but there are some that are in the surrounding area.

Econo Lodge Airport

The Econo Lodge Airport at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport actually enjoys an advantageous location for any traveler who is flying in to partake of Camelback Mountain, as it is four miles from the airport and only five miles from the mountain itself. The hotel offers an outdoor pool, free breakfast, free copy of USA Today and free local calls. Also, there is a free shuttle to the airport that makes its rounds 24 hours a day.

Travel Inn

The Travel Inn is also located only a few miles from Camelback Mountain. It has satellite television, an outdoor pool, free local calls, and breakfast is included in the room rate.

The Metcalf House

This hostel is closed in July and August. Accommodations consist of dorm beds and private rooms. There is a common kitchen and laundry room, a nice shady garden and a common room with television.

This budget hotel is about three miles from downtown Phoenix, and a little more than four miles from the mountain. There is an outdoor pool and a game room with pool table. Every room comes with a coffeemaker, mini-microwave, mini-refrigerator and cable TV. It is pet-friendly, and a free breakfast is included in the rate.
