Tricks to Using the Garmin Nuvi 750

Tricks to Using the Garmin Nuvi 750
The Garmin Nuvi 750 is a navigational device that allows you to set up predetermined locations and routes. You can also set up certain waypoints or stops along the route once it's been established. While the Garmin Nuvi 750 is easy to use, learning some specific tricks and tips can make it work even better.

Back-Up Home

If you're traveling from several different locations or use two locations frequently, you should set up a second or back-up home on your unit. This is also helpful if you find yourself traveling quite a bit from both your home and work. To setup a second home, go to your favorites menu and select the home menu. Then, click the edit button and add a second home to the list. Make sure to select your second home whenever traveling from your second location.

Traveling

When traveling, change your home location to the address of your hotel or anywhere else you stay. It's easy to get caught up in your travel plans and forget that you haven't changed your GPS unit. This way, you can enter in a new destination and get directions from your hotel. Just remember to delete this new address when you get home or you'll find yourself getting the wrong directions.

Vehicle

The Vehicle feature on the Garmin Nuvi 750 gives you the option of changing the type of vehicle or the way in which you travel, but many users forget about this. Select the wrench option from the main menu and then look for "navigation" and then the vehicle bar. You can now change your vehicle to a car, bicycle or change to the pedestrian setting. This gives you different routes based on the vehicle such as hiking trails, bike trails and major highways.

Antenna

The antenna on your Garmin Nuvi 750 establishes your location while using the unit. However, if you want to use the unit to establish routes from different locations, you'll want to push the antenna down. This lets you set up routes between any two locations regardless of your position at the time. You'll find it helpful if you're checking mileage or another factor in one city when you live in another.
